PhotoSize

Scan documents to PDF

Scan turns phone photos of paper documents into a clean, flat, black-and-white or colour PDF. It straightens tilted pages, removes shadows and can keep the PDF under a size limit for upload forms.

How to use it

  1. Take or add photos of each page.
  2. Check the corners on each page; drag them if the edge was missed.
  3. Choose clean colour, black and white or grey, and A4, US Letter or as photographed.
  4. Set a size limit (5 MB down to 500 KB) if your form has one, then download the PDF.

Questions

How do I scan a document with my phone without an app?

Open this page in your phone's browser, tap to take photos of the pages and download the PDF. Nothing needs to be installed, though you can add it to your home screen.

Can I make the PDF smaller than 1 MB or 500 KB?

Yes. Choose a size limit and the tool chooses the image quality for each page so the whole PDF fits. If the pages cannot fit, it tells you.

Does it add a watermark like other scanner apps?

No. The PDF has no watermark and no branding.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens inside your browser on your own phone or computer. Your photos are never sent to a server, so nobody else can see them, and the tool keeps working without internet once the page has loaded.
